It Takes a Village—We’re Yours

Free Pregnancy and Postpartum Support for Families Across Delaware County

For more than 28 years, Healthy Start has offered expecting and new parents a full range of support during pregnancy and postpartum. Working with a Family Village team, Healthy Start participants receive respectful care tailored toward each family’s needs.

Services may include case manager visits, connection to medical or social services, and legal, housing, or food assistance, to give babies a strong start in their first 18 months. Many of the Healthy Start staff live in the community and know it well, which helps ensure that you receive resources that are useful and easy to access.

Healthy Start enrolls pregnant and postpartum families in Chester, Eddystone, Woodlyn, Parkside, Upland, Chester Township, Linwood, Marcus Hook, and Trainer. Families who are enrolled in Keystone First and live anywhere in Delaware County are also eligible for Healthy Start services.

In addition to care coordination, Healthy Start offers a full calendar of education programs that are free to the public and open to expecting parents, postpartum parents, friends, and family members. These classes are offered every month and may include Parent Cafes, Lactation Cafes, programs for dads and partners, self-care workshops, nutrition classes, childbirth education classes, and more.
