Rebuilding the Village From the Ground Up

Fathers matter – every step of the way. Join us this June in Delaware County for Fatherhood Responsibility Month featuring events that support dads through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, while connecting them to vital, year-round resources. Our role is to build and support our community’s village starting with healthy relationships. Let’s build it together from the ground up. 

June 2, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Story Walk Opening

  • Help us kick-off a family-friendly, father-themed story walk around the grounds of everyone’s favorite library in Chester, featuring “Dad” by Christian Robinson. This is a great activity to share with the kids. Those in attendance will be given raffle tickets for the book featured on the story walk – “Dad” by Christian Robinson. We will also be raffling off tickets for other events throughout the month (you must be present to win).

  • Have questions about pregnancy or maternal mental health? Want to learn more about breast/chest feeding or your OB/GYN’s role in your care? Join us for an interactive Panel Q&A featuring a range of providers who support families throughout the perinatal period, from pregnancy through postpartum. This event is designed to build trust and connection between providers and families while addressing common questions, fears, and uncertainties. Food will be provided and prizes will be raffled!

  • Join us for breakfast pastries and coffee as we build a coordinated effort to support fathers before, during, and after birth, ensuring they have resources to fulfill their responsibilities. Discussions will include how to rebuild the village in Delaware County. We’ll be raffling off tickets to the June 13 Painting event at the CAAT center to those in attendance.

  • Dad’s Cafe is an open space where Dads and their circles can speak about the joys of fatherhood. Learn the 5 protective factors, a tool that aims to make the job of ‘dad’ a little easier. Join us for this special in-person session!

  • Dads, this is your chance to learn exactly what you should be doing in the labor room! Learn how you can help and support moms before, during, and after the birth experience. The class will be lead by Education Specialist and Doula, Skyla vanTrikt.

  • Tie One on For Prostate and Colon Cancer Awareness Charitable Organization goals are to bring awareness and education about preventative care, to support the newly diagnosed, those managing care and those in remission by aiding and assisting with financial obligations and provide information of resources for patients and families.

  • This year’s summit will feature keynote speaker, Mayor Stefan Roots. Tap into the many resources available to fathers in Chester and enjoy food, free giveaways, and more. The event will host a set of small group workshops chosen by participants. We will also be giving away our Dad of the Year award! Gifts, prizes and raffles will be awarded to those in attendance.
